Progressive Leadership in Action

New Leaders Council (NLC) seeks out the top tier of emerging progressive leaders from around the country for USA's top political entrepreneurial program, the NLC Institute, building a community of vetted, trained progressive leaders with the skills and support system to help to change the way politics is done and foster a more equitable, just America.

​To this effect, NLC canvassed America's Comeback City, Detroit, looking for rising leaders whose careers promise to make a lasting mark. The Detroit Chapter nominated 400 leaders and elected the top 20, and together this outstanding group compose Detroit's Inaugural class and the city's top progressive leaders.
