 DETROIT, MICHIGAN – The Detroit Chartering Chapter of the New Leaders Council (NLC) is proud to announce its 1st Annual FELLOWS AFFAIR to be held on June 13, 2015. This extraordinary fundraising & networking event will honor the New Leaders Council Detroit Inaugural Class for their successful completion of the nation’s premiere political entrepreneurship training program, NLC INSTITUTE, while raising funds to benefit the next round of top emerging leaders to be elected for this elite program.
New Leaders Council is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that recruits, trains, and promotes the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow — elected officials and civically-engaged trendsetters in business and industry who will shape the future landscape. NLC currently has an established footprint spanning 40 cities nationwide with an aggressive expansion plan forthcoming. New Leaders Council Detroit welcomes the general public and media to join in celebrating its remarkable debut in Detroit, with this first round of 20 notable leaders to successfully complete the highly-selective five-month training program (Communication, Life Entrepreneurship, Advocacy, Leadership, Political advancement, Team-building) which contributes to the group’s mission of training 10,000 new progressive leaders nationwide by 2020. Upon graduation, Fellows are paired with career mentors, join the national NLC alumni network, and are delighted to host the highly anticipated FELLOWS AFFAIR supporting the next class of Detroit Fellows.
