Axel Cooley's Biography

Axel Cooley is a product of Canada’s Technology Corridor – the global center of talent, growth, innovation and discovery.  Selected for an enriched program as a gifted student, she attended Canada's #1 innovation and computer science university, the University of Waterloo, while still in high-school. She then proudly graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University, reckoned as one of the top business schools in the nation accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) obtained by only the top 5% of business schools worldwide. Here, she obtained a Bachelors Business Administration Honours (B.B.A. Hons.) Degree, majoring in Finance and minoring in Marketing - a rare breed. She was hand-selected for its highly-competitive Co-op program reserved for its top 400 students and awarded as 1 of 3 finalists in the world-renowned Integrated Case Exercise (ICE) - a competition among Waterloo's brightest for the best solutions to real life business complexities. Further, for 20+ years, she studied the science of truth which enabled her to proceed without fear, think without limits, and honorably function as a servant leader.

As a result, Axel was able to secure Technology and Finance positions at some of the world’s largest companies including Goldman Sachs, OpenText (Canada’s #1 software company), Pepsi FritoLay, and Marketing for high-tech corporations such as DSPFactory Ltd. (now ON Semiconductor, NASDAQ:ONN) and ITOPA Technologies (Wireless Data Solutions). The well-rounded and tenacious professional began her career by working for ServiceMaster where she was quickly promoted as Supervisor at the young age of 17, and in this position she hired, trained, and motivated over 60 telemarketing employees. These positions served to instill in her the quality standards of Corporate Canada and the tactical skills to make smart decisions in the business world. 

The world’s first NASCAR team owned by five (5) NFL players quickly discovered Axel's unique Finance, High-tech, and Marketing background and recruited her to help make history - and as such, her rare access to strategic partnerships and the media was born. For 10 years, she worked in 30 nations conducting press conferences, documentaries, exclusive interviews, collaborating with global media networks including: CNN, BBC, NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, DISCOVERY, NATGEO, TELEMUNDO, UNIVISION, WAPA AMERICA, AZTECA TV, and more. Widely known as a woman of vision, commitment, and courage, Ms. Cooley has also made her mark as a creative force in the world of business. She currently serves as President at METALLON LLC, which supplies primary and secondary precious metals to the automotive industry and represents world-class suppliers of automotive components for some of the world’s largest OEMs. The accomplished entrepreneur is also co-owner of MuscleMagic Pain Relief cream and a clinical hair and scalp care line.

Due to her unparalleled global exposure, in 2013 Axel was hand-selected to partner with the owner of North America's top Automotive Group, a multi-billion dollar consortium of companies, which gave her unimaginable insight into 29 commodities and the compelling global automotive market. As such, she learned how some of the largest contracts in the Automotive sector are structured, secured and executed. Ever since she has been fueling her positive energy and creative ideas into the Automotive industry with her global connections.

In 2015, she was also sought-after to navigate the U.S. Defense sector in 2015 under the direction of the Honorable Ms. Constance Blair, first woman president of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and founder of Woman-Minority-Veteran owned Technology Ventures Inc. which has served every government agency since 1992. In so, she also learned the intricacies of government contract execution, government contract writing, global logistics, and foreign trade zones.​
Fluent in multiple languages, comfortable in a global landscape, and with tenacious mind to create efficiency, she has been able to establish unique cost savings opportunities, and groundbreaking collaborations to bring disruptive technologies into the automotive world as OEMs race to create connected vehicles.​

Ms. Cooley’s major philanthropic endeavor has been helping victims of abuse. To this end, she led the Press Dept. for the Are Your Children Protected Foundation, conducting investigative reports around the world in multiple languages, working with governments, advocates, international courts, and interviewing victims, public figures or subject matter experts. In fact, she was tasked with investigating some of the most challenging issues known to man. With a keen interest in current affairs, Axel also served as an investigative reporter for NG Radio where she handled LIVE newscasts and authored articles widely syndicated.

Reckoned as a leader in business and industry who will shape the future landscape of Detroit, Axel was elected into the Inaugural Class of the New Leaders Council - Detroit Chapter, and served as the Communication Chair for its Executive Board. She further serves as the Director of Communication to Women in Defense - Michigan Chapter, and the Communications Committee for Women in Automotive.  Other boards include Women of Color Entrepreneurial Circle, Washington's Section 321 Imports/Exports Group, and an International Business Council. Axel takes pride in proceeding as a citizen of love, power, and self-control and is often referred to as an “inextinguishable light filled with joy”.
