Axel Cooley was raised in the heart of "Canada’s Technology Triangle", Kitchener-Waterloo. Selected for an enriched program as a gifted student, she attended Canada's top computer science University, the University of Waterloo, while still in High School. She then proudly graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University, reckoned as one of the top business schools in the nation accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) obtained by only the top 5% of business schools worldwide. Here, she earned an Honors BBA degree and was hand-selected for its highly-competitive co-op program limited only to the top 400 students. She was awarded as one of the three finalists in the world-renowned Integrated Case Exercise (ICE).
Axel’s career has largely focused on empowering individuals and helping to advance communities all around the world through wisdom, which is the most powerful gift awarded to man. For over 9 years, she served as Press Officer and Media Director for RDS TV & Radio Productions, where she oversaw Press Departments in 30 nations and collaborated with global outreach programs to teach individuals their self-worth, since prosperity begins in the mind. In this role, she was blessed with the opportunity of conducting press conferences, documentaries, exclusive interviews, collaborating with global media networks including: CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, DISCOVERY, NATGEO, TELEMUNDO, UNIVISION, WAPA AMERICA, and many more.
Widely known as a woman of vision, commitment, and courage, Ms. Cooley has also made her mark as a creative force in the world of business. She currently serves as President at METALLON LLC, which supplies primary and secondary precious metals to the automotive industry and represents world-class suppliers of automotive components for some of the world’s largest OEMs. The accomplished entrepreneur is also co-owner of MuscleMagic Pain Relief cream and a hair & scalp care line, Rejuve3.
Previously, Axel secured technology and finance positions at some of the world’s largest companies including Goldman Sachs, Open Text (Canada’s top software company), Pepsi FritoLay, and marketing for high-tech corporations such as DSPFactory Ltd. (now ON Semiconductor, NASDAQ:ONN) and ITOPA Technologies. The well-rounded and tenacious professional began her career by working for ServiceMaster where she was quickly promoted as Supervisor at the young age of 17, and in this position, she hired, trained, and motivated over 60 telemarketing employees.
Due to her unparalleled global exposure, she was hand-selected to partner with the owner of North America's top Automotive Group, a multi-billion dollar consortium of companies, which gave her unimaginable insight into 29 commodities and the compelling global Automotive market. Ever since, she has been fueling her positive energy and creative ideas into the Automotive industry. Fluent in multiple languages, comfortable in a global landscape, and with tenacious mind to create efficiency, she has been able to establish unique cost savings opportunities, and groundbreaking collaborations to bring disruptive technologies into the automotive world as OEMs race to create connected vehicles.
Ms. Cooley’s philanthropic endeavors have extended beyond just helping individuals have better lives. One of her major philanthropic concerns has been helping victims of abuse. To this end, she led the Press Dept. for the Are Your Children Protected Foundation, conducting investigative reports around the world in multiple languages, working with advocates, international courts, and interviewing victims, public figures, authors, or subject matter experts. With a keen interest in current affairs and global issues that affect mankind, Axel also served as an investigative reporter for NG Radio where she handled LIVE newscasts and authored articles widely syndicated.
Reckoned as a leader in business and industry who will shape the future landscape of Detroit, Axel was elected into the Inaugural Class of the New Leaders Council - Detroit Chapter, and now serves the Communication Chair for its Executive Board. She further serves as an Advisor to several Councils including the Women in Defense - Michigan Chapter, the Women of Color Entrepreneurial Circle, and an International Importing/Exporting Board. Axel takes pride in proceeding as a citizen of love, power, and self-control and is often referred to as an “inextinguishable light filled with joy”.
